YOUR United States Strongman is proud to have a 2nd State Rep for West Virginia. Daniel Caraway has served his country, he continues to serve our veterans and now we are proud to have him serve USS! Here is Dan in his own words.
Hello fellow strongmen and strongwomen! My name is Dan Caraway and I’m pleased to say that I will be representing WV USS. I’m married with a 11yr old little girl. Currently I work as a Physical Therapist for the Veteran Affairs Hospital. I too have served 9 years in the West Virginia Army National Guard approximately 4.5 years that were active including a year in Iraq, one year as Director of Combat Fitness for the WVARNG, and a year in Fort Bragg providing law and order as a military policeman.
Initially I began strongman back in 2011 and have been hooked ever since. After a few years of competing I felt I could produce a greater impact in the sport by promoting and ultimately by becoming a State Representative with USS. I am very thankful for this opportunity and I’d like to let everybody know that if you are for the sport of strongman in WV I am here for you! I realize that I am part of something much greater than myself and that if I am to help the sport grow it will require mentoring, empowering, and delegating responsibilities to others. If you have a solid game plan together and want to run a contest I will help out in any way I can at 0 cost. My reward comes when I see others from WV going on to accomplish greater things and by providing a great experience to competitors from out of state to give them good things to say about the state I love. Some of my strongman accomplishments include: USS Hoosier Strength Challenge 2016 2nd place MW 220, NAS Minuteman Muscle Challenge 2016 1st place HW, NAS Krank’d 7 1st place MW 231, NAS 2014 WV State Championship 1st place MW 231, Battle at the Baywood 2 3rd place MW 231, Intense Strongman 2nd place MW 231, 2013 Blueridge Mountaineer 1st MW 231, and 2011 Strongest Man in The Forest 1st place.
